Hi Reader,

Well, a very Happy New Year to you!

I hope you enjoyed the holiday season and found some time to rest and rejuvenate.

I made the choice to get off all social media for a couple of weeks, to truly be present, and to spend as much time as possible with my friends and family.

But I missed you and this caregiver community!

So I'm ready to get back to it, and I thought we'd talk about New Year's resolutions first since we are heading into 2025.

In this week's blog post, I talk about my experience making New Year's resolutions - why I did it for a long time, then I stopped, and now why I am doing it again...ha.

I hope you find this article helpful, and let me know what your thoughts are - do you, or do you not, make New Year's resolutions?

You can respond either from this email OR respond in the comment section below the post.

Until next time, enjoy!

Upside Lane Nurturing Hearts, Nourishing Lives, Inspiring Resilience Hi Reader, My apologies for the long break. The holidays happened, and then the California fires happened! As you probably know, I lived in California for over 30 years. It was where I danced professionally, worked as a nurse, raised my family, and made oh so many dear friends. One of my daughters still lives in California. She did evacuate for a time but thankfully, her own family and home are safe. That said, I do have a...

Upside Lane Nurturing Hearts, Nourishing Lives, Inspiring Resilience Hi Reader, Did you know the recommendation to get 10,000 steps a day is not based on research? It was a marketing strategy for a company that made pedometers. The name of their pedometer was called "Manpo-kei" which means "10,000 steps meter." Crazy right? Especially considering how popular the 10k-myth is! In this week's article, I talk about the 10k step rule and the real research behind walking, steps, and movement. I...

Upside Lane Nurturing Hearts, Nourishing Lives, Inspiring Resilience Hi Reader, Get Super Bowl-ready with these delicious Vegan Buffalo Wings! Back in the day when I was a professional dancer in Las Vegas, and when I ate animal-based products, heading out at 2 am with my dancer friends to grab a plate of spicy buffalo chicken wings, after doing two shows was the norm. It took me a while to come up with this 100% plant-based recipe but I think I finally nailed it! The perfect tang, the perfect...
